My work is grounded in the man-made and the constant urban development and growth of our surroundings. Everything is constantly in flux; the world can be so fast-paced and is changing every second. I act like a magpie, picking bits that catch my eye and abstracting them. It could be the design on the sole of a trainer or the surface of a billboard. Everyone is constantly leaving their mark on this planet in one way or another, I’m taking those marks to make my own.

Recent work: The City
The city represents a vast expanse of human activity, different people with different stories overlapping, leaving behind their mark. Buildings climb up, emerging from the dust of previous foundations and then collapse back down again. The fluctuating skyline continually regenerates, along with the people living within it. The bright and the new form a rich contrast to old forgotten capsules of time. Flurries of bright pulsating colour bounce from neons and billboards; the unintended marks of a repainted wall sprawled with graffiti embed the passage of a society. Meanwhile, the online community update their Facebook timelines riddled with YouTube videos compiling tawdry failures. The city maps out the memories and passing of humanity through the walls that surround it. The city does not discriminate between its dwellers; it is all embracing and retains our stories.
